Thank you for making Pedal for Parks 2025 a great success!

On June 21, nearly 80 people—cyclists and volunteers—gathered at Kouchibouguac National Park to ride in honor of those affected by autoimmune diseases, breast cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, and inflammation.

We are pleased to announce that over $8,800 was raised for the Alexandre-Parks Foundation. The total includes $3,630 from registration fees and promotional item sales, as well as $5,170 in individual donations and pledges.

Every contribution played an important role in the success of the activity.

Prepare to embark on a meaningful journey amidst the scenic beauty of Kouchibouguac National Park. More than a cycling experience, this event is an opportunity for our community to gather, drawing inspiration from Alexandre’s incredible story.

Join us for this family-oriented initiative which aims to raise awareness for autoimmune diseases, including autoimmune enteropathy, which Alexandre suffered from, along with breast cancer, the focus of his PhD research, and pulmonary fibrosis, one of the many medical complications that tragically took Alexandre’s life.

Entrance fees to Kouchibouguac National Park: There is no entrance fee for participants to this day’s event. A day pass will be provided during registration on the morning of the event.

Registration is limited to 100 participants!

PEDAL FOR PARKS: Andre’s Journey as a Tribute to Alexandre

We extend our gratitude to André Boulard for initiating this movement, with André’s commitment to cycling 160 km in memory of Alexandre Parks. Thanks to the success of this event, Pedal for Parks has now become an annual tradition for the foundation.

This event serves as a direct catalyst for advancing education and providing scholarships in medical research areas that held significant importance to Alexandre.

Thank You All for the Success of the First Pedal for Parks!

We are thrilled to share the success of our very first Pedal for Parks event that took place on Saturday, June 22. Over 60 people gathered in solidarity to honor individuals affected by autoimmune diseases, breast cancer, and pulmonary fibrosis. We are proud to announce that the event raised over $5,800!

2023 PEDAL FOR PARKS

The inaugural PEDAL for PARKS event successfully took place on Saturday, September 30, 2023, bringing together a diverse community of families, friends, business leaders, and dedicated volunteers. Participants embarked on a scenic 10 km ride along the picturesque Riverfront Trail in Dieppe, NB. The event was met with enthusiasm and a shared commitment to furthering the mission of the Alexandre-Parks Foundation, leaving everyone eager to continue raising awareness for this noble cause.

PEDAL for PARKS! represents more than a mere bicycle ride; it signifies a commitment to raising vital funds for our PhD scholarships on autoimmune diseases, breast cancer or pulmonary fibrosis.

 

2. When is PEDAL for PARKS!

Event Details:

    • Date: Saturday, June 27, 2026
    • Time: 10 a.m. (check-in and welcome, departure at 10:45 a.m.)
    • Departure Point: Kouchibouguac National Park, NB (Pijeboogwek parking lot)
    • Route Option – to be determined at a later date
3. What to bring?

A few suggestions:

  • A mobile phone for emergencies
  • A water bottle
  • Extra snacks if you have food allergies or food sensitivities
  • Dress according to the weather
  • Your donation page with the donations collected
4. Do children under 16 years old have to pay the registration fee?

All children riding their own bicycles are required to pay a $35 registration fee.

5. What is the fundraising minimum?

Participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of $50 in donations. These funds will help fuel our mission. Official donation receipts for tax purposes can be issued for any donations received. (Registration fees do not qualify for a tax receipt, only donations qualify!)

6. Where does the money raised through PEDAL for PARKS go?

PEDAL for PARKS! is more thant just a bicycle ride; it represents a commitment to raise essential funds for our mission which is to advance local medical research through our PhD scholarships on autoimmune diseases, breast cancer and pulmonary fibrosis.
