Inspired by Alexandre’s Legacy

Pedal for Parks was created to honor the life of Alexandre Parks — a young man whose courage, kindness, curiosity, and determination continue to inspire everyone who knew him.

At just 23 months old, Alexandre was diagnosed with autoimmune enteropathy. Despite the challenges of his illness, he always demonstrated great curiosity and a deep thirst for knowledge.

He pursued studies in Biology and earned a Master’s degree in Experimental Medicine. His journey reflected his passion for science, determination and deep desire to help improve the lives of others.

Today, every kilometre ridden helps carry Alexandre’s vision forward by supporting the Alexandre-Parks Doctoral Scholarships, advancing medical research and inspiring the next generation of scientists.

Alexandre’s Legacy Lives On

Pedal for Parks is much more than an annual ride. It is a reminder that one person, driven by courage and a passion for science, can inspire an entire community to create lasting change.

Join the movement

Pedal for Parks brings together cyclists, volunteers, families and partners who share a desire to make a difference. Whether you participate in the ride, volunteer your time or help share Alexandre’s story, every action helps advance medical research and inspire hope.

Together, we continue a community movement inspired by Alexandre’s courage, kindness and belief that science can change lives.

Every dollar raised through Pedal for Parks supports the Alexandre-Parks Doctoral Scholarships, helping young scientists pursue research on autoimmune enteropathy, autoimmune diseases, breast cancer, pulmonary fibrosis and inflammation.

Where It All Began

Pedal for Parks began with one remarkable act of generosity.

In 2023, André Boulard cycled 160 kilometres in memory of Alexandre Parks. This deeply generous act inspired the creation of a movement that continues to bring our community together today.

His commitment gave rise to Pedal for Parks, an initiative that helps advance education, support the Alexandre-Parks Doctoral Scholarships and carry Alexandre’s legacy forward through medical research.

Thank you, André, for inspiring an entire community to keep riding for hope.
