Inspired by Alexandre’s Legacy

Pedal for Parks was created to honour the life of Alexandre Parks — a young man whose courage, kindness, curiosity, and determination continue to inspire everyone who knew him.

Diagnosed at just 23 months of age with a rare autoimmune disease, Alexandre faced lifelong medical challenges with remarkable resilience. Yet he never allowed his illness to define who he was. He was known for his generous spirit, his quiet determination, his love of learning, and his genuine desire to help others.

His passion for science led him to earn degrees in Biology and Experimental Medicine and begin doctoral research in breast cancer at the Université de Moncton.  Alexandre believed that research had the power to improve lives and offer hope to future generations.

Today, every kilometre ridden helps carry Alexandre’s vision forward by supporting doctoral scholarships, advancing medical research, and inspiring the next generation of scientists.

Alexandre’s Legacy Lives On

Pedal for Parks is more than an annual ride. It is a reminder that one person’s courage and passion for science can inspire an entire community to create lasting change.

Join the movement

Pedal for Parks brings together cyclists, volunteers, families, and supporters who believe in making a difference. Whether you participate, volunteer, or help share Alexandre’s story, every action contributes to advancing medical research and inspiring hope.

Together, we continue a community movement inspired by Alexandre’s courage, kindness, and belief that science can change lives.

Every dollar raised through Pedal for Parks supports the Alexandre-Parks Doctoral Scholarships, helping young researchers pursue discoveries in autoimmune diseases, breast cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, and inflammation.

Where It All Began

Pedal for Parks began with one remarkable act of generosity.

In 2023, André Boulard cycled 160 kilometres in memory of Alexandre Parks, creating a movement that continues to unite our community today.

His inspiring journey became the foundation of Pedal for Parks, helping advance education, support doctoral scholarships, and carry Alexandre’s legacy forward through medical research.

“Thank you, André, for inspiring a community to keep riding for hope.”
