The Alexandre-Parks Foundation is pleased to announce two distinct scholarships for the 2025–2026 academic year: valued at $5,000 and $10,000. These bursaries reflect our ongoing commitment to support doctoral candidates and advance local medical research.

The scholarships are open to full-time students enrolled at Université de Moncton pursuing doctoral studies in life sciences, and specializing in autoimmune enteropathy, autoimmune diseases, breast cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, or inflammation.

To fulfill this mission, we are proud to introduce the ALEXANDRE-PARKS GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS, tailored to support students pursuing doctoral studies at the Université de Moncton in the fields of autoimmune enteropathy/autoimmune diseases, breast cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, or inflammation.

The 2024–2025 Alexandre-Parks Graduate Scholarships Recipients

The Alexandre-Parks Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of the Alexandre-Parks Graduate Scholarships (APGS) for the 2024–2025 academic year.

We are honored to award a $10,000 scholarship to Ms. Marie-France Soucy and a $5,000 scholarship to Ms. Vanessa Veilleux. These scholarships are granted following a rigorous evaluation of applications by an independent scientific committee, thus ensuring that the funds support promising and dedicated young scientists.

The Alexandre-Parks Foundation extends its heartfelt congratulations to our scholarship recipients and wishes them continued success in their research, which pays tribute to the memory of Alexandre Parks.

Vanessa Veilleux is the recipient of the 2023-2024 Alexandre-Parks Graduate Scholarship, in the amount of $10,000. Vanessa Veilleux’s exceptional achievements continue to gain recognition for their innovative and significant potential. Her unwavering dedication and commitment align perfectly with the Fondation Alexandre-Parks’ focus for 2023-2024, carrying forward Alexandre Parks’ doctoral work.

“I would like to thank the Alexandre-Parks Foundation for the Alexandre-Parks doctoral scholarship awarded to me this year. It’s through scholarships like this that young scientists like me are encouraged to pursue their passion and achieve their goals. My research project is in the same scientific area as the one Alexandre started. His story and path are a source of inspiration for all of us.”

Vanessa Veilleux is the recipient of the 2022 Alexandre-Parks Graduate Scholarship, in the amount of $10,000. Again, this year, her excellent record impressed the evaluators who underlined her innovative project as being very relevant and having great potential. Alexandre Parks was unable to complete his doctoral studies, but Vanessa Veilleux’s research will allow the work he undertook to be completed.

“I would like to thank the Fondation Alexandre-Parks Foundation for the generous Alexandre-Parks doctoral scholarship awarded to me this year,” said Vanessa Veilleux. I have the great honor of working on the research project started by Alexandre. I must say that Alexandre’s story and his journey greatly inspire me. His resilience, determination and perseverance are a real source of inspiration for me.”

The Fondation Alexandre-Parks presents its first scholarship

Vanessa Veilleux has been honored with the prestigious distinction of being awarded the inaugural $5,000 Alexandre-Parks Graduate Scholarship by Fondation Alexandre-Parks Foundation for the academic year 2021-2022.

Her excellent file impressed the evaluators who stressed that her project is innovative, of great relevance and has a great potential for impact. Alexandre Parks was never able to complete his doctoral studies, but Ms. Veilleux’s research will bring to completion the work he began.

“Much more than just financial aid, this scholarship is for me a real encouragement to continue my academic career and gives me the opportunity to devote myself to my studies and the advancement of science.
